Find and place plants
Search and filter the plant library, review plant details, and place one or several plants on the plan.

The plant library is where you choose species and load them for placement. You can search by name, browse plant groups, apply site filters, and place the same plant several times without returning to the library after each one.
Open the plant library
Choose Add plants on the canvas, use the library button in the app bar, or press Shift + L.
On a wide screen, the library opens as a panel on the left. On a phone or tablet, it opens as a bottom sheet over the lower part of the plan.
Find a plant
Use whichever method fits what you already know:
- Search for a common name, scientific name, or cultivar.
- Choose a category such as Trees, Shrubs, Grasses, Flowers, Ground, Vines, or Ferns.
- Open Filters to narrow the library by plant traits and growing conditions.
- When beds are already drawn, open Filters and choose a bed under For bed to apply its modeled light and stated soil and water conditions.
The small information button on a plant card opens its details without loading it for placement.
Place a plant
Choose a plant
Click a plant card. The card becomes selected and that plant is loaded for placement.
Place it on the plan
Click the plan where the plant should go. Klora places the plant at that point.
Place additional copies
The plant stays loaded after placement. Continue clicking to place more of the same plant.
Put the plant down
Press Esc when you are finished. You can also click the selected plant card again to stop placing it.
On a desktop, you can also drag a plant card directly onto the plan. This is useful when you want to place one plant without leaving that species armed afterward.
On a phone or tablet, tap a plant card, then tap the visible part of the canvas to place it. The library sheet stays open so you can choose another plant. Tap the selected card again when you are finished placing that species.
Place plants with the illustrated plan visible
Plant placement is usually easier after you turn off Tracing mode. Open Layers, turn off Tracing mode, and leave the beds and other design layers visible so you can judge spacing and composition.
You can still turn the source image back on whenever you need to check an existing tree, utility, or site feature.
Move or edit a plant after placement
Put down the armed plant first, then choose Select. Select the placed plant and drag it to a new position. Its properties let you change settings for that placement without changing the species in the library.

Clicking the plan keeps adding plants
A plant is still loaded for placement. Press Esc, or click the selected plant card again, before trying to select or move an existing object.
No plants match the search
Clear the search and active filters. The library shows a Clear search & filters button when the current combination has no matches.
Tapping a plant opens information instead of placing it
Tap the plant card itself to load it. The information button opens the species details page inside the library.
I cannot see the plant I placed
Check that Plants are visible in Layers. Also make sure you placed the plant within the part of the plan currently in view.
The library covers too much of the plan on mobile
Use the sheet handle to resize or dismiss the library. When a plant is armed, taps on the visible canvas pass through so you can place it without closing the sheet.
