Set the property location
Add the property's coordinates so sun, shadows, and seasonal information use the right place.
Klora uses the property location for sun and shadow calculations and for location-dependent plant timing. Set it when you start from a blank plan or import a plot plan without an address.
An address-based aerial import normally sets the location for you. You only need to change it when the imported location is wrong or you are designing a different property.
Until a location is set, location-dependent features use Klora’s default reference location. Set the real property location before relying on sun, shadows, or the plant calendar.
Set the location
Open Property location
Open the property controls, then find Property location.
Choose how to locate the property
Use your device location when you are at the property, or enter the latitude and longitude directly.
Review the coordinates
Confirm that the values refer to the property you are designing. Latitude comes first, followed by longitude.
Save the location
Apply the location, then reopen any sun, shadow, terrain, or seasonal view you want to review with the updated coordinates.
When you choose device location on a phone or tablet, your browser may ask for permission. Allow location access for this request. Klora needs the coordinates, not continuous background access.
Enter coordinates manually
Use decimal latitude and longitude, such as values copied from a mapping application or property record. A location in the United States normally has a positive latitude and a negative longitude.
Be careful not to reverse the two values. Reversed coordinates can place the plan in another country or outside the valid range.
When to update the location
Change the location when:
- You started from a blank plan.
- You imported a plot plan without an address.
- The design was copied for a different property.
- An address import selected the wrong property.
- Sun or seasonal information appears to be based on the wrong region.
Changing the location does not move the shapes you have already drawn. It changes the geographic reference used by location-dependent features.
Device location is unavailable
Check the browser’s location permission and try again while you are at the property. You can always enter latitude and longitude manually.
The location is far from the property
Check that latitude and longitude were not reversed. In the United States, longitude is normally entered as a negative number.
The location step did not appear after an address import
Address imports normally set the location automatically. Open Property location only when you need to inspect or correct it.
Sun or seasonal information still looks wrong
Confirm the coordinates, then close and reopen the relevant view. Also check that the design’s north direction and site geometry are correct when reviewing shadows.
